How Can You Afford Not To Belong?

There are many reasons to belong to the Northern California Drywall Contractors Association (N.C.D.C.A.).  Some that come immediately to mind are:
to serve
to give back
to learn
to belong
to believe
to grow
to succeed
to be informed
to be supported
to be involved
to develop professionally
to build relationships
to join a community
to relax and have fun
to make money

This Association is made up of 68 Drywall Contractors just like you and they all belong for many different reasons including those mentioned above - but the most important, the most universal reason that they belong - is the need to understand every facet of this complicated business in order to survive and prosper.

They belong because their Association negotiates labor agreements on their behalf with the Carpenters Union for the Drywall hangers and Lathers, and with the Painters Union for Tapers. They know that the Association membership means their ideas on negotiations will be heard and count for something.

They belong because their Association keeps them up to speed on current and future wage and fringe benefit rates and prevailing wage rates which oftentimes are misquoted by the Unions and Government Agencies.

They belong because their Association, through its sister organization, the Drywall Information Trust Fund, keeps them informed about current Building Codes and Building Code changes. They belong because their Association's staff represents them when they have problems with Union Business Agents or Building Inspectors or Architects or Owner's Representatives or Manufacturers.

They belong because with their membership in N.C.D.C.A. they are automatically members of the Association of Wall and Ceiling Contractors (A.W.C.I.) which is drywall's international association and they are automatically members of the American Subcontractors Association (A.S.A.) which is our Legislative Advocate in Sacramento. A.S.A. also works very diligently toward a goal of more equitable subcontractors with better payment clauses - in other words - they represent subcontractors interests when negotiating with General Contractors and Government Agencies

They belong because their Association provides a legal serbice in which a member can consult with a Construction Law Specialist for up to two (2) hours per construction problem and their Association pays for 1/2 of the fee. The law firm also provides Association members with reduced legal fees when members are in need of legal help on construction type problems.

They belong because their Association promotes its members and their special skills in the Daily Pacific Builder newspaper, the American Institute of Architects journal, the California developers Magazine and other important construction trade publications.

They belong because their Association, through the Drywall Information Trust Fund, sponsors many excellent and informative seminars on such vital topics as Building Code Revisions, understanding your costs, how to handle and motivate today's workforce, understanding general contractor's subcontract and how to get paid promptly for work performed.

Their Association is not an all work and no play organization. They're into social events with the same kind of enthusiasm that they devote to the drywall industry and the drywall industry's problems. Take the annual golf tournament as an example. They hold it as prestigious private country clubs and every member gets one free pass. That free pass includes lunch, golf, refreshments on the course hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, dinner and lots of golf prizes.

Their Association's Christmas Diner Dance is well known for its class and splendor. Everyone, and I mean everyone in the drywall construction family, marks their calendars for the next year's dinner dance so they don't inadvertently commit to some other event. Their Association keeps the cost low so that contractor members can bring their key employees without it costing an arm and a leg. There is also a real fun annual picnic in June and monthly meetings that are held to educate and inspire.

If you are a member of the Association, your shop card fee, which is required under the terms of the contract for Tapers, is $75.00. If you are a not a member of the Association, your shop card fee is $150.00. Being an Association member saves you $50.00 a year. You certainly can't beat a deal like that!

I guess I rambled on a lot longer than I intended, but there's so much to tell you about this fine organization that it just can't be done in a few short sentences. I hope that after reading this you can understand why I titled it "How Can You Afford Not To Belong?".

Contact us below so you can sign up right away. We will contact you immediately.  All it costs is $100 (which is 4 months dues in advance). You will be a member of an organization that is dedicated to serving all of your business needs. Remember dues are a mere $25.00 per month. I ask the question once again, "How can you afford not to belong?" The answer, of course, is you can't.
